What personal information Afri Air Waves collects, why, and the choices you have under POPIA.

1. Who we are

2. What we collect

Customers: your name, email address, mobile number, delivery and installation address, order and payment status, the serial numbers of units you buy, and your voucher numbers and their status.

Installers: your name, business name, contact details, province and service areas, SAQCC Gas and electrical registration numbers, copies of your SAQCC Gas card and identity document, bank details for payouts, and the voucher claims you submit, including installation addresses and completion photos.

Everyone who uses the site: messages you send us, and technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected through cookies and server logs.

3. Why we use it

To process and deliver orders and issue vouchers.
To verify installers and confirm that vouchers are redeemed against the correct unit.
To pay installers for completed work.
To activate and administer warranties and send service reminders.
To answer enquiries and handle returns and complaints.
To meet legal duties, including tax and consumer-protection record keeping.
To keep the website secure and improve how it works.

We send marketing messages only if you have agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.

4. Who we share it with

Verified installers and technicians: a customer’s name, contact number and installation address, so the installation or service can be booked and carried out.
Payment provider (Payfast): to process payments. We do not receive or store your card details.
Couriers: name, address and contact number for delivery.
Service providers: website hosting, email and form tools that process information on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
Authorities: where the law requires it.

We do not sell personal information.

5. Where it is stored and for how long

Our website is hosted in South Africa. Some service providers may process information outside South Africa; where they do, we require protection equivalent to POPIA.

We keep order, voucher and warranty records for the length of the warranty period plus the period the law requires for financial records. Installer documents are kept while the installer is part of the network and for [5] years afterwards. Enquiries are kept for [2] years.

6. How we protect it

We use access controls, encryption in transit and restricted storage for identity and registration documents. Only staff who need the information to do their work can see it. If a security compromise affects your information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies that make the shop, cart and account work. With your consent we also use analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie banner.

8. Your rights

You may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, give you access to it, correct it or delete it, and you may object to how we use it or withdraw consent you have given. Email info@afri-airwaves.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa: inforegulator.org.za.

We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
