Terms and conditions.

The terms that apply when you buy from Afri Air Waves, use our vouchers, or register as an installer.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by [registered company name] (registration number [number], VAT number [number]), trading as Afri Air Waves, of [physical address], South Africa (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at info@afri-airwaves.com.

By placing an order or registering as an installer you agree to these terms.

2. Orders and prices

  • All prices are in South African rand and include VAT at the current rate.
  • Unit prices include delivery within South Africa and one installation voucher per unit.
  • An order is accepted when we send you an order confirmation. If a product is unavailable or was priced in obvious error, we will tell you and refund any payment in full.
  • We may change prices at any time. Changes do not affect orders already confirmed.

3. Payment

Payment is made at checkout through our payment provider, Payfast, by card or instant EFT. We do not store your card details. Goods are dispatched and vouchers issued once payment has cleared.

4. Delivery

We deliver to addresses in South Africa. Delivery times given at checkout are estimates. Risk in the goods passes to you when they are delivered to the address on the order. Please inspect the packaging on delivery and note any damage on the courier’s delivery document.

5. Installation vouchers

  • Each unit is supplied with one installation voucher, which is tied to that unit’s serial number and has a value of R2,000.
  • The voucher may only be redeemed by an Afri Air Waves verified installer, for the unit it was issued with.
  • It covers a standard installation: up to 2 hours’ labour for a back-to-back or through-wall install, using the install kit supplied with the unit.
  • Anything beyond a standard installation, such as longer pipe runs, additional gas, electrical work and an electrical certificate of compliance, trunking, scaffolding, core drilling or removal of an old unit, is an extra. The installer must quote extras to you in writing before starting, and you pay the installer directly for them.
  • Vouchers have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash.

6. Installers

Verified installers are independent contractors and not our employees or agents. We check their registration and documents before they may redeem vouchers, and we pay them for standard installations and services on your behalf. The installer is responsible for the workmanship of the installation and for any extras agreed with you. If you have a concern about an installation, tell us and we will investigate.

7. Service vouchers and plans

  • A service voucher covers one standard service of one split air conditioner of any brand, as set out on the Service plans page.
  • A 3-year service plan consists of three service vouchers, one becoming valid in each year.
  • Gas top-ups, parts and repairs are not included and are quoted in writing before any work.
  • Service vouchers are valid for the period shown on the voucher.

8. Warranty and returns

Our Warranty and Returns and refunds policies form part of these terms.

9. Installer registration

If you register as an installer you confirm that the information and documents you give us are true and current, that you hold the registrations you claim, and that you will tell us promptly if any registration lapses. We may decline or withdraw verification at our discretion. Voucher claims are paid after we have checked the voucher, unit serial number and completion photo. A claim that is false or cannot be verified will not be paid.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by an installation or work that was not carried out by a verified installer.

11. Your information

We handle personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page at the time of your order applies to that order. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
